>You need to be able to identify the distributive property “in action” on your SOL test this year and the easiest way to do this is to remember the properties you learned in 3rd and 4th grade so this new distributive property “pops” out at you.
Remember, the Distributive Property of Multiplication over addition
requires the use of both multiplication AND addition.
Homework: Properties worksheet.
Identify ALL 4 choices before you circle an answer.
>>>>Refer to your notebook for lots of examples and definitions.
Homework: Finish Adding/Subtracting decimals worksheet #1-12.
Number and show all work on back with paper turned sideways.
Check ALL subtraction with addition!
Students are beginning to work with decimals again this year. Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing them will be a big part of their SOL test.
This can be tricky for some especially when multiplying because they have to know when the decimal points should line up or not.
Please monitor and help them complete their work at home as they practice these skills.
Homework: Rounding Decimals Challenge # 1 and #2.
Be sure to complete all 4 challenges.
Use the clues to narrow it down to the correct answer.
Homework: If needed, finish subtraction with regrouping problems in notebook. Remember to round & estimate 1st & then check with addition.
