Homework:  Write fractions #7-13 in simplest form on lined paper.  Use both methods to find GCF as marked and then use that GCF to divide.

Be sure the GCF is 1 for your final answer!

Refer to completed ex’s in NB for help.

No homework!  We began writing fractions in lowest terms(simplest form) by finding a Greatest Common Factor(GCF).

>>This skill is extremely important in 5th grade as most answers involving fractions will need to be represented in simplest form.

>>Students will be taught 2 ways to find GCF, so look for notebooks to come home as work is assigned so they can refer to the guided practice examples.
