Homework: There will be an order of operations quiz tomorrow.

Notebooks should be coming home and used to study.

>>A good idea would be to copy several of the expressions from their notebook that we already evaluated/simplified, and re-evaluate/simplify again.  All of those examples “should” be correct so they can just look at their new answer to see if they did it correctly.

I also gave a sheet with 10 extra expressions to simplify, but only to those that requested one.

  3. Next Monday 5th grade is going to CHS on a field trip to see a motivational speaker.  Students need a signed permission slip to attend.  Permission forms were sent home last week & they’ve been reminded.
  4. 5th Graders are learning a new concept this week and next.  It is the Order of Opertions.  It can be hard, so reviewing daily and completing all assigned work will be critical.  Please encourage your student to bring their notebook home daily so they can refer to all of the completed examples and step by step ex’s that have been completed and discussed with me in class.

Homework:  Even/Odd worksheet.  Refer to completed examples in your notebook and ALWAYS “test” the rules before you answer the true/false questions.  It’s the safest way to be sure of your answer!
