No math homework tonight. Reading SOL is Wednesday and Thursday morning. Friday is “Twin Day”
Good Luck to all of the LCES Running Club members participating in the Great Train Race in Fredericksburg tomorrow.
I know you will represent us well!
Homework: If not done yet, complete all of your take-home test corrections before you get to class Monday 5/8.
All corrections must be done on a new piece of paper(provided) and the new answer choice written beside the old one on each answer page.
DO NOT ERASE ANY OLD WORK OR ANSWER CHOICES. I want you to be able to see the mistakes and show/explain to me what you did wrong in your first attempt.
Homework: Correct Take-Home Test Packet mistakes that were all given back to the students today.
ALL corrections must be completed ON A NEW SHEET OF LINED PAPER.
ALL corrections must be complete by next Monday 5/8/17, but can and should be turned in earlier as they complete them.
Struggling?? Encourage them to use their notebooks and the SOL Test-Taking Strategies handout they were provided last week.
>>>If that does not help, suggest they come to see me or Mrs Driskell for help. We will not tell them what to do, but will provide prompts and suggest where they can look in their notebooks for completed examples.
Homework: Finish the 4th take home test packet. It is due tomorrow. Allstudents were given the opportunity to turn them in today if it was complete.
Students will soon begin re-working and correcting all of their mistakes.
We are wrapping up measurement and moving on to Algebra this week before finshing the 5th grade curriculum next week with patterns.
Homework: The 4th and final take-home test packet is due Wednesday, may 3rd. Be sure you are taking the time to refer to the test taking strategies handout you were given as well as your notebook.
The more you put into these tests, the more yo will get out of them.
>5th Grade Math SOL Test is wednesday, May 17th.
A BIG “Thank You” to the following LCES BETA Club members:
Isabella Hawkins, Jayden Cauthorne, Danica Sale & Joseph Hood.
These guys sacrificed their Saturday morning to complete our annual BETA Club service project at LCES:
Below is the 2nd garden area that was also weeded and muched.
The stone patio and sitting wall was also power washed.
The area looks great and is ready to be used for
Teacher Appreciation Week.
Homework: As needed, finish Math Take-Home Test Packet #3.
>>All students have been provided at least 20 minutes to work ahead and have been encouraged to use their time wisely in school. There is always down time that can and should be used productively.
PLEASE refer to the Math SOL Test-Taking Strategies handout I gave you Monday, as well as your notebook for help.
>>>This is NOT the time to rush through these questions and/or quess. Extra effort now will pay off on their SOL test.
